Clubs

IMFFA members volunteer to create and run clubs on a variety of topics. Joining a club is a great way to meet fellow members and learn new skills.

Book Club

Meet once or twice a month to discuss pre-selected books and other topics of mutual interest. Venue varies.

Perfect opportunity for small children to play while parents socialize and share parenting ideas, experiences, and advice.

Wonderful way to learn more about local trails, meet new friends and get some fresh air and exercise in the great outdoors.

Cooking demonstrations - attendees learn how to cook special dishes and enjoy the final products together.

Events

IMFFA organizes various cultural, educational, professional and social events in a hybrid mode. Some examples are: Annual General Meeting, Newcomers Breakfast, Halloween Party, Bake Sale, and Happy Hours. Stay tuned for the bi-weekly newsletter and not miss any of them!

Outings

Washington D.C. and surrounding areas have a lively and vibrant cultural scene with wonderful museums, beautiful architecture, great restaurants, and nice coffee places. IMFFA organizes outings so members can get together and enjoy these to the fullest.

Seminars & Info Sessions

IMFFA knows the importance of hosting informational seminars for our members so they can make educated decisions regarding their lives here in Washington D.C. Typical sessions include: career advice, US tax reporting, selecting a school for your children, IMFFA newcomer orientation, how to apply for a US work permit (EAD), and summer camps.

Membership is free of charge. We welcome IMF staff spouses, domestic partners, and children. We also encourage IMF staff that are single parents with young children to become a member.
